Q1. Does the GEL Tuya smart dimmer module need a hub or gateway?
The WiFi version connects directly to your router — no hub needed for app and voice control. The Zigbee version requires a Tuya Zigbee hub for pairing and app control. Choose WiFi for simple standalone setup, or Zigbee for a mesh network with other Zigbee devices.
Q2. Which bulbs work with this smart dimmer?
It supports dimmable LED and incandescent (INC) bulbs only. Confirm your bulb is dimmable before ordering; non-dimmable LEDs may flicker or be damaged.
Q3. Does it work with Alexa and Google Home?
Yes. It works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant / Google Home, so you can control brightness and on/off with simple voice commands such as "Alexa, set the light to 50%".
Q4. Which app do I use?
Use the TuyaSmart or Smart Life app (both are the official Tuya ecosystem apps) to pair, dim, schedule, and group your lights.
Q5. Can it replace my existing wall switch?
Yes. The module installs behind your existing switch, so you keep your current switch plate. It fits most mounting boxes and works with mechanical rocker or reset switches.
Q6. Does the dimmer need a neutral wire?
The module is wired into your AC supply (live and neutral) behind the switch. Confirm your wall box has a neutral conductor before installing.
Q7. What is the maximum load?
1-gang: LED 150 W @ AC230 V, 80 W @ AC120 V. 2-gang: LED 2 × 100 W @ AC230 V, 2 × 60 W @ AC120 V. Do not exceed the rated load.
Q8. WiFi vs Zigbee — which version should I choose?
Choose WiFi if you want the simplest setup with no extra hub. Choose Zigbee if you already have (or plan to have) a Tuya Zigbee hub and want a mesh network with other Zigbee devices.
Q9. Will it fit my mounting box?
The mini body measures 39 × 39 × 20 mm, designed to fit standard mounting / junction boxes without replacing your original switch.
Q10. Does it remember the light state after a power outage?
Yes. After a power restart you can set the relay state to light on, light off, or remember the last status.
Q11. Is it certified and what is the warranty?

Q12. Can one module control two lights independently?
The 2-gang (2CH) version controls two independent lighting loads, each with its own dimming and on/off. Both 1-gang and 2-gang support 2-way (multi-way) switching.
